The Big Book Club: Our First-Ever Meeting!
October 17 • 6–8 p.m. • Parsifal Books & Coffee
Wine, Cheese & Good Company
Big books are better with good company.
Come help us launch the Big Book Club! This is our very first meeting, and the club is co-ed. Come with a friend, bring your partner, or come on your own and meet some fellow readers.
The idea is simple: tackle ambitious books together, keep each other on track, and have fun along the way. We’re beginning with J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, with the goal of finishing The Fellowship of the Ring by October 17.
Expect a relaxed evening of book discussion, wine and cheese, plenty of time to socialize, and perhaps a game or two. Getting to know each other is as much a part of the club as talking about the book. Bring your favorite passages, your questions, and your strong opinions about hobbits.
We’ll keep discussion within Fellowship, with no spoilers for what comes next. Haven’t quite finished? Come anyway! Helping each other keep reading is part of the point.
Future adventures might include Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Cervantes, and other authors whose big books deserve a little company.
Join us from the beginning. Let’s read something big together.
